BoardRoom magazine is pleased to announce the appointment of Marius Ilie as the new General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at St Andrews Country Club, effective November 1, 2025.
Ilie brings more than two decades of private club leadership and an exceptional track record of operational excellence, strategic vision, and member engagement. Most recently, he served as GM/COO at Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, NY. His prior leadership roles include Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach and The Polo Club of Boca Raton, where he led transformative capital projects, strengthened governance frameworks, and implemented innovative membership and staff development programs.
Ilie is known for fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, aligning operational performance with member expectations and long-term club goals. A passionate believer in the principle that “excellence is a continuous journey,” he excels in strategic planning, capital asset management, and service-driven leadership.
Originally from Romania and a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California, Ilie is deeply committed to elevating the member experience while mentoring and empowering high-performing teams.
