After more than two decades at the helm of the Chevy Chase Club, GM/CEO Luke O'Boyle has announced his departure, closing a distinguished chapter in private club leadership. Since 2004, Luke has been the driving force behind one of America’s most esteemed full-service country clubs, blending a deep respect for tradition with a forward-thinking approach to innovation and service.

Under Luke’s steady guidance, the club evolved through extraordinary times—from economic shifts and a global pandemic to ambitious capital improvements—all while maintaining its commitment to excellence. With hallmark amenities such as the club’s outdoor, open-air skating rink, Luke helped ensure the club remained a year-round haven for families and members of all generations.

His tenure included partnerships with 21 club presidents, 75 board members, and countless committee leaders, all of whom trusted and supported Luke’s collaborative approach. He credits the talented staff and senior leadership team at Chevy Chase for enabling the club’s continued success.

Luke’s career spans some of the industry’s most storied clubs, including roles at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Greenville Country Club, and Houston Country Club, where his early years helped shape a lifelong dedication to the profession.

As he turns the page and heads to the Sunshine State for his next adventure, the BoardRoom family extends its heartfelt thanks to Luke for his decades of leadership, innovation and service to the private club industry—and wishes him all the best in the exciting chapters still to come.
